Noah Messick, bass

Noah Messick, bass (he/him) from Hickory, North Carolina, is a versatile and accomplished performer praised for his commanding voice, rich tone, and compelling artistry. He has garnered numerous accolades, including First Place in the North Carolina NATS Classical Competition and the 2022 Most Outstanding Male Singer Award. He went on to earn Second Place at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals and was named a national semifinalist. In recognition of his excellence and dedication, Noah received the prestigious Hickory Music Club Award in 2024 and the Hickory Music Club Scholarship in 2025, honoring his outstanding representation of his hometown as a collegiate musician.


Equally at home in opera and musical theatre, Noah brings vocal flexibility and dramatic presence to a wide range of repertoire. His performance credits include Tiger Brown in The Threepenny Opera, Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Lurch in The Addams Family. He also appeared as the Immigration Officer in Jonathan Dove’s Flight and served as the cover for Colline in La Bohème. In concert, he has performed as the bass soloist for the Brevard Symphonic Winds’ 2024 Patriotic Pops concert and as the bass soloist in Messiah: Sing-Along.


Noah holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music from Lenoir-Rhyne University, as well as an Associate of Fine Arts in Music from Catawba Valley Community College. His operatic training includes an intensive residency with the Janiec Opera Company at the Brevard Music Center in 2024, where he studied under renowned director Dean Anthony and had the opportunity to work with Metropolitan Opera conductor Steven White and Broadway conductor Andy Einhorn.


In the Summer of 2025, Noah will continue refining his craft at the Bay View Music Festival Conservatory, where he is slated to perform the roles of JP Morgan in Ragtime and Escamillo in Carmen.
