Marie Blanchard, mezzo-soprano

Marie Blanchard, mezzo-soprano is a Fort Wayne, Indiana native majoring in Music with an Outside Field at PFW. Her outside field is Statistics. After graduating, she plans to work as a statistician while continuing to perform and teach music in the area. Marie is primarily a pianist and has been studying that instrument for 13 years, but she also loves to sing and is currently assistant director for her church choir. She also enjoys reading, cooking/baking, puzzles and hanging out with friends and family. Although she’s sung in many choral ensembles, this is Marie’s first complete role in a staged production. Marie would like to thank everyone involved in the PFW Opera Ensemble, especially Dr. Giallongo and Dr. Lynn for giving her the opportunity to sing in this production. She would also like to thank her parents for introducing her to opera and encouraging her to pursue it.
