
Jake Svay, tenor
Jake Svay, tenor (he/him) graduated from Manchester University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in General Music with a cognate in Conducting. He is a veteran of the studio of Dr. Debra Lynn for voice and conducting. Svay is currently the music director at Wabash Christian Church and has been the director of Manchester University's handbell ensemble since 2016. His previous opera roles include Hoffmann in The Tales of Hoffmann (Offenbach) and Raoul de St. Brioche in the Merry Widow (Lehár). Most recently, Svay has completed his course of study in piano tuning and repair, becoming a certified piano technician, and spends most of his time diving into the more complex aspects of piano tuning with his mentor Larry Merriman. Originally from North Carolina, Svay now resides in North Manchester, Indiana with his wife and pets.
