
Natalie Young, soprano
Dazzling audiences with her light lyric coloratura voice, soprano Natalie Young has made her mark as a versatile performer and has recently taken on the role of Artistic Director at Heartland Sings in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she has sharpened her skills as conductor and arts administrator.
Natalie maintains a busy recital and concert schedule and has sung as a guest soloist with: Bach Collegium Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Players Association, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Palm Beach Symphony, various recital series', and on her own recital project entitled "Songs of Motherhood". Natalie has sung principal roles with: First Presbyterian Theatre, Purdue Fort Wayne Lyric Stage, Leonhardi Ensemble in Munich, Opera Naples, Opera in the Ozarks, Lawrence Opera Theatre, Heartland Sings, and The Theatre in the Park.
Favorite opera roles include: Della (The Gift of the Magi), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Micaëla (Carmen), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), and Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance).
A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Ms. Young maintains an active voice studio and is passionate about helping singers develop vocally while studying classical, musical theatre, and contemporary repertoire. She often serves as a clinician for master classes, teaches vocal workshops, and adjudicates vocal competitions.
Natalie holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Belmont University and a Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.
